Abstrak

This study studied to analyze the characteristics of public transport modes on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) case study of coridor 1 of Trans Padang. The data used are primary data obatained from the result of surveys and quetionnaires, as well as data obtained from relevant agencies. The sampling technique uses incidental sampling techniques with the entire population of Trans Padang users and samples of 270 respondents taken along the Trans Padang route. The data analysis used in this study is percentage analysis.Based on the result of the study, it is known that the travelers using Trans Padang are dominated by: a)10-20years age group(47%),b)female sex(77,8%), c)household size 3-5people(49,6%),d)type of work for students(54,8%), e)toal cost of day trips >Rp 10.000(50%), f)captive clas(58%),g)do not have a driving license(59%). The movement of the prepetrators of the trip is dominated by: a)from the time of 06.30-07.30 and 12.30-13.30 is from home(77%and44%) and for 16.30-17.30 the origin of the trip is from schoool/campus(29%). b)the destination of the trip at 06.30-07.30 is goes to school(41%), 12.30-17.30 is going home, c)how to reach the bus stop using public transport(40%). Trans Padang services are based on loading factors of 77%, the lenght of waiting tume is 5-10minutes(86%), the distance of reaching the bus stops is 0-100meters(39%),most of them do not shift routes or modes(40%) and time travel for 10-30minutes(50%)
