Abstrak

This study aims to find a picture of the Professional Development of High School Geography Teachers in the City of Sawahlunto for Continuing Teacher Professional Development. The study of this research is focused on activities in the form of self-development¹ scientific publications² and innovative work³ that can influence the continuing professional development of the teacher. This type of research is classified as a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. Data collection using questionnaire instruments, interviews and observations. Data analysis uses percentage analysis. The results of this study are known that the development of the profession of high school geography teachers in Sawahlunto City for the development of a sustainable teacher profession is relatively low. (1) Geography teacher self-development activities by 46% are included in the medium category. Personal development activities are seen from the aspects of continuing post-certification studies, training that is followed, activities as resource persons, and workshop activities. (2) Geography teacher scientific publication activities by 28.3% included in the low category. Scientific publication activities are seen from the aspect of the teacher's activeness in making writings, popular scientific writing and textbook publications. (3) 34% of geography teachers' innovative work activities are in the low category. Innovative work activities are seen from the aspect of the teacher's activeness in creating work in the form of media, art and methods.
