Abstrak

This research is to find out the quality of continuous professional development of high school geography teachers in Agam Regency, to find out the problems faced by teachers, and to find out the efforts that can be made to improve the quality of continuous professional development of high school geography teachers in Agam Regency. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. Data collection uses instruments a0+0nd brief interviews, and data processing uses percentage analysis. The results of the study are: (1) The quality of continuous professional development of high school geography teachers in Agam Regency in the aspect of self-development is very good, aspects of scientific publications are low, and aspects of innovative work are very low. 2) Obstacles faced by geography teachers in the regency of Agam in the continuous professional teacher development activities are the tight teaching hours of teachers, the lack of motivation of teachers in carrying out sustainable professional development activities, the absence of special funds in some schools, there are still some teachers who are less skilled in the use of computers / laptop and the lack of teacher knowledge about the procedures for writing scientific papers. (3) Teachers' efforts to improve the quality of this activity are that teachers continue to participate in the MGMP activity 1 time in 1 week, the head of the MGMP always ensures that each teacher brings learning tools for the meeting material furthermore, and some teachers always try to use different learning methods at each meeting.
