Abstrak

The purpose of this study are (1) to know the effect of training on high school geography teacher professionals in Kampar, (2) to know the effect of teaching experience on high school geography teacher professionals in Kampar, and (3) to know the effect of training and teaching experience together on professional high school geography teacher in Kampar Regency.


This type of research is an ex post facto study conducted at the Kampar District High School in the 2019/2020 school year. The population of this study were all Geography teachers who registered to follow the Geography MGMP in Kampar Regency in the 2019/2020 school year as many as 45 teachers. Sampling is done by "total sampling. Data were collected through interviews using questionnaires and through tests. Data were analyzed using hypothesis testing and multiple linear regression analysis. To see teacher competency, the questions used are from the UN, SBMPTN and USBN questions, so that the question requirements are not tested, assuming the questions have met the elements of validity, reliability and diversity.


This research found: Firstly, the training had a significant effect on the professionalism of senior high school Geography teachers in Kampar. Secondly, the teaching experience significantly influences the professionalism of senior high school Geography teachers in Kampar. Thirdly, the independent variables which include training and teaching experience have a significant effect on teacher professionalism, so it can be said that the independent variables together have a significant effect on the dependent variable.
