Abstrak

This study aims to determine the utilization of the natural environment as a source of learning by geography teachers at SMAN 3 Kota Padang Panjang in the first semester of class XI learning about the availability and relevance of class I XI semester I, the use of the natural environment as a source of learning in semester I XI geography learning , the obstacles and efforts of future geography teachers in utilizing the natural environment as a source of learning in class I XI semester.


This type of research is qualitative descriptive. The informants in this study were geography teachers at Padang Panjang High School, who used KTSP. The number of informants was obtained by 2 class XI geography teachers and supplementary informants. Data collection techniques used in this study were interviews, documentation analysis and observation.


The researcher found that: The Utilization of the Natural Environment as a Learning Resource by First Class Geography Teachers in the Padang Panjang State High School in KD 1.1 Students were able to explain the biosphere phenomenon, 1.2 Students were able to analyze the distribution of animals and plants, 2.1 Students were able to explain the meaning of Natural Resources, 2.2 Students are able to identify the types of Natural Resources, 2.3 Students are able to explain the utilization of natural resources wisely as follows: (1) in the aspect of natural environment availability in the biosphere layer as a learning source in the form of an valley, anai stem, hills, forests, plants, soil, animals, energy, sun, and wind are relevant to KD class I XI semester; (2) In the aspect of utilization, the form of utilization of the natural environment available around the city of Padang Panjang has not been utilized by the first semester class geography teacher XI; (3) In the aspect of obstacles, the form of obstacles in the form of limited hours of study time, access, permission from parents, colleagues in helping to coordinate students; (4) In the future aspects of efforts in the utilization of the natural environment by class I XI geography teachers in the form of programming out-of-school learning during holidays outside PBM and making students active in learning by sending a reward system.
