Abstract

ABSTRACT


This study aims to determine the efforts of teachers to overcome difficulties in learning geography in class X IPS students at SMAN 1 Six Lingkung, Padang Pariaman Regency.


This type of research is qualitative. Determination of subjects using purposive sampling. The research subjects were 1 class X IPS geography teacher and 12 students of X IPS class. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques data reduction, data presentation and conclusion.


The results of the study found that 1) The factors that influence students' learning difficulties in geography subjects are internal and external factors. 2) The constraints experienced by teachers overcoming geography learning difficulties are student characteristics, the low interest in student learning in geography subjects. 3) The teacher's efforts to overcome geography learning difficulties are ensuring student readiness, using learning media that facilitate understanding, problems related to everyday life, the level of difficulty of the problem according to the ability of the child, giving freedom to the child to solve problems.
